My Delayed Birthday... @ Cradle Mountan Lodge!

Ok. So as many of you know my actual birthday turned out to be a bit of a mess. SO.. Mum took me out for a suprise LOOONNG weekend at Cradle Mountain Lodge [Its a 5 STAR resort!!!]. Its very expensive, very 'ritzy'/ 'posh', and very very much worth it!! In advance: I would like to apologise for the dodgy photography - mum didnt know how to navigate the new camera!

Thursday [28th August]:

- On the way to Cradle Mountain, we stopped in a small town called 'Forth'. In Forth, we entered a very cute, very PURPLE House (in fact, its called the Purple House). At the Purple House i had my first ever full-body massage - I loved it!! *Heaven on Earh*
- Arrived at Cradle Mountain Lodge at Sunset. Tired from the travel we just chilled out in the warmth of the cabin:

[Don't be fooled by th outwad appearance...]

[Mmm. Nice warm big bed...which MUM slept in!]

[Not a very good shot. But the bathroom is very nice. The spa bath was popular :P]

[Fireplace was so cool! Mum just chillin' out]

[Meh. I was a little confused at something i read. Hehe]

Friday [29th August]:

- Buffet Breakfast, with views of beautiful Tasmanian landscape. Quality Dining!
- 10:00am: 60minutes of head, neck and shoulder massage + treatment facials @ Waldheim Alpine Spa. It was heavenly!
- Lunch, Relaxing, LOTS of Journal Writing, LOTS of reading and talking and sleeping etc. Mm, the good times.
- Entre, Dinner, Desert @ Highlander Restraunt. Oh yes, the food was most definately 5-star quality! DELICIOUS. (I would've written out what i ate only i'm not so good at memorizing 5 lots of very long and complicated french words lol).
- Hot chocolate, Tea, Mood music at our room. Mum and i talked for HOURS that night. It was warm, cosy, and soooo relaxing.

[Mum. Inside the Restraunt.]

[And there's the fireplace. Isn't it awesome!?]

Saturday [30th August]:

- Slept in really late into the day. We had to race off, looking terrible i might add, to get to the buffet breakfast in time :P
- Went for a drive to Dove Lake.
- At 4:00pm we spent nearly 2 hours in the 'Sanctuary' Room @ Waldheim Alpine Spa. There is a Sauna, a Steam-room, a plunge pool (a freezing cold deep tiny pool), and an outdoor hot tub (so awesome when it snows!)
- Had an early tea and an early night...

[Inside the SANCTUARY @ Waldheim Alpine Spa]

[The Outdoor Hot-Tub]

[The river had ice in it! It sleeted while i was in the hot-tub. It was wierd having cold stuff on my face but the rest of me was warm as!]

[Dove Lake Walks... We didn't do any of them :P]

Sunday [31st August]:

- Buffet Breakfast. The last one :(
- 10:00am Full-body massage @ Waldheim Alpine Spa.
- 11:15am - 12:30pm Spent all that time in the Sanctuary.
- Can't remember what time we left but eventually we left the 5-Star heaven and drove back down the mountain, back into range of reception - Man i got a heap of text messages in one go! I guess they kinda build up after being 4 days out of range :P

There were heaps of 'locals' roaming around EVERYWHERE at the resort. They were so tame, you actually had to "shoo" them out of the way, or else step over them, cuz they wouldn't move!...
Here's some of our friendly neighbours:

[This is Poog the Possum]

[This Patty the Melon... get it? Lol]

[This is Frank...]

Overall: I think that Cradle Mountain Lodge lives up to its 5-star rating. However, it is more appropriately catered for Couples. If you're looking for a romantic getaway, a honeymoon spot, a place to pop the big question, etc.. Cradle Mountain Lodge is the place to be!
Its very relaxing and i enjoyed every minute of not having reception lol!
