End of Another Uni Semester

Well THANK HEAVENS that's all OVER!
That was perhaps the most intense semester of uni for me ever.
3 assignments and 1 exam all due on the last day of semester (today)!!

This is what that looks like...:

It's all over now. I've submitted my assignments (much earlier than this week) and just moments ago, completed the exam.
Feeling confident and very very relieved.
Time to unwind by cranking the music and cleaning up this neglected home ;-)

Creative Problem Solving ..

To jolt my brain out of mind-numbing assignment writing mode, i've begun exercising the right side of my brain with some creative problem-solving!

Problem 1: The hubby's catalogue fettish.
Anthony LOVES catalogues.
And catalogues love him.
Seriously. We get a catalogue for nearly every big business in Launceston!
Anyway, so unfortuately the catalogues get left on the floor, table, couch...
Here's how i dealt with it this week:

Ah. What a pretty way to get rid of 4 full catalogues!

Stay tuned for more creative solutions ;)

A Winner Mud Cake!

Ok, let's set the scene:

Last minute only hours before Father's Day, you're asked to bring a cake to the family father's day gathering.
You look in the cupboard and find NO packet cakes, or deserts of any kind! And you can't just bring a woolies cake (although they taste amazing and they're a winner for everyone) because it's Father's Day - you've gotta show some sort of effort...

You begin to panic.

Well Anthony and I found ourselves in this situation not very long ago.
Here's how to make an awesome last-minute cake that Dad will appreciate and everyone will LOVE!

STEP 1: Run to Woolies and buy 2 delicious mud cakes, betty crocker icing, some icng writing and sprinkles!

STEP 2: Hack up the top of one of the cakes. (This will make sense in the following step...)
STEP 3: Smoosh the other cake on top. You may need to give it a bit of a twist and a wiggle so it sticks to the icing on the bottom cake.

STEP 4: Trim off overhanging bits. Use these bits to plug any gaps.

STEP 5: Cover it, really thickly, with the Betty Crocker Icing. This way no-one will recognise what the cake is actually made of!

STEP 6: Decorate!

And that's how it's done! ;)
